Today we are on our way to see a castle and a village market. On the way we passed through a main square of the town of Durres where we saw a statue of George W. Bush (US president) and a bakery with his name. Apparently President Bush had visited the town and they decided to commemorate the visit.
Our drive took us to the old capital of Albania, Kruje. The bus dropped us off at a great market where we had time to wander and shop. They had a lot of tourist souvenirs.
What a wonderful market...old stone buildings, rough cobblestone streets, wooden framed window and lot of items to photograph and to buy. The wood carved items were particularly lovely.
They had some really wonderful carved wooden objects. They were beautiful.
